II.  Texas Canyon,  Altered States, 2011 (29)

This collection of images was developed from the more conventional group of Texas Canyon color images made in 2010.   A variety of post-processing techniques were employed to achieve these unusual visual effects, including conversion from color to black-and-white, distortion and hyper-saturation of colors, multiple imagery, changing of color and tonality within “boxed-in” segments of a photo, and the introduction of color bands and shapes inserted into images, among other methods.  The intended results are often surreal and impart a sense of magical realism to these otherwise more conventional landscapes and rock studies.
