These photographs were made on a whirlwind seven-day tour of Egypt, and represent random “slices of life” rather than an in-depth exploration of this fascinating country.  Depictions are of the Cairo urban landscape, desert environs, portraits, and images of poverty and wealth.  This group became part of a series “In Shadows Ancient,” depictions of ancient monumental ruins and contemporary street life in their environs.  Israel, Egypt, Ancient Greece and Turkey, Rome and several regions of Mexico were represented in this series of photo essays.
