Part of my urban landscape work, this group of photos was made in Tucson, AZ; the subjects are places normally teeming with people, vehicles and activity...but photographed when they are absolutely devoid of human presence or movement of any kind.  These evocative works also capitalize on the early morning light characteristic of the region - hard, near-blinding, and casting extraordinarily deep shadows.  Among locations depicted are shopping centers, schools, sports facilities, churches and center-city business areas.  The group was shown by the Tucson Museum of Art in 1997; a complete set of prints is owned by the TMA.
